What this course covers
This course sets out, in practical terms, what the positive duty requires an organisation or business to do to prevent and respond to sexual harassment and related behaviours, and how to meet that duty in the specific setting of the building and construction industry. It begins with the substance of the duty — taking reasonable and proportionate measures to eliminate, as far as possible, sexual harassment, sex-based harassment, sex discrimination, related victimisation and hostile working environments. It then works through the practical building blocks: visible leadership and a respectful culture; assessing and managing the risk of these behaviours as psychosocial risks; clear policies and codes of conduct; accessible and trusted reporting options; responding fairly, promptly and confidentially; training and information; and monitoring and improving over time.
