NatHERS 7-Star, BASIX, net zero, thermal performance and green building ratings.
The difference between net zero energy and net zero carbon, the fabric, services and solar that get a home there, how it relates to 7-star and whole-of-home, and the voluntary schemes builders meet.
What thermal bridges are, where they occur in Australian homes, why they cause heat loss and condensation, and what the NCC requires for metal-framed walls, roofs and floors.
The physics of condensation in new homes, the NCC 2022 and NCC 2025 rules for wall membranes, exhaust fans and roof space ventilation, and the site practice that keeps mould out.
Why NSW uses BASIX instead of the NCC energy rules, how NatHERS feeds into it, what changed in October 2023, and when a BASIX certificate is needed.
What the 7-star thermal standard and the whole-of-home energy budget require, which buildings they cover, when each state adopted them, and how a new home can comply.
